One of the most well know dishes is Cullen Skink, a traditional thick, creamy soup made from smoked haddock and potatoes. With boats still fishing out of Burghead and Buckie, look out for fresh prawns, lobster and langoustine. Most restaurants offer a range of Speyside Whiskies to round off your meal.
The Old Mill Inn Brodie, near Forres has established itself locally as one of the top eating places with steak and fish dishes a speciality. Just off the A96 near Forres is the Loft Bistro offering an excellent selection of farmhouse food from its open kitchen. Elgin Tourist Information Centre is situated in Elgin library, which happens to be where the café in the park is, so it’s a popular tourist stop.
